A new Version 1.72 of the CPU-Z information utility has been released. This version adds support for Intel Skylake and fixes Windows 10 support.
Nvidia GeForce 347.71 Beta Hotfix

Nvidia has released the 347.71 Beta Hotfix graphics driver. This driver is for GeForce 400 and higher graphics cards under Windows Vista, 7 and 8. It is a hotfix for resolving an issue with being unable to apply optimal settings in GeForce Experience with MFAA support.
VLC Media Player 2.2.0

The free VLC Media Player has been updated to Version 2.2.0. This major update adds auto-rotation of phone videos, adds more support for more codecs, allows extensions to be downloaded from within the application, and contains security and bug fixes.

Firefox 36.0

Mozilla has released Version 36.0 of the Firefox browser. The most significant changes include support for the HTTP/2 protocol, pinned tiles on the new tab page can be synced, and if Firefox crashes during shutdown, the crash reporter will now appear before exit, along with bug fixes.

I'm currently working on a thorough overhaul of the Nvidia Forceware Tweak Guide, to be renamed the Nvidia GeForce Tweak Guide. More than just an update, the guide is being almost totally rewritten from scratch, the goal being to make it much more accurate and useful to all Nvidia GPU owners. It's still at least a couple of weeks away from being completed.

Microsoft appears to have released a newer version of another Update which was originally released a few days ago, but which can cause font rendering issues on Windows Vista. The new version may resolve this font problem on Vista, but if it doesn't, you can fix the fonts by uninstalling the update. Go to Windows Control Panel>Programs and Features>View installed updates, then enter KB3013455 in the Search box at the top right and uninstall the result. Note that uninstalling this update leaves your system exposed to a security vulnerability which can be readily exploited.

Microsoft has released a new version of an Update which was originally released yesterday, and then removed shortly thereafter due to reports of some systems freezing during the update. The fixed version of the update is now available via Windows Update.

Stardock has released Version 1.50 of the Start8 Start Menu replacement utility for Windows 8. This version adds support for the sleep function on Surface 3 and similar devices, and adds an option to show a list of Metro apps on the Start Menu.

Nvidia has released the 347.52 WHQL certified graphics driver. This driver is for GeForce 400 and higher graphics cards under Windows XP, Vista, 7 and 8. This is the recommended driver for Evolve. It also provides general performance improvements in games across various GPUs. The driver package contains PhysX version 9.14.0702 and GeForce Experience version 2.2.2.
